Do You Know What's in Your Perfume? Natural Perfume Options March 15, 2018 14:08

Everyday we spritz perfume and cologne before heading out the door. But do you really know what you're spraying on your body?

Your perfume that you put on your body every day might not be as peachy as you may think. Your perfume might smell like a basket of roses but it actually contains many synthetic chemicals that are created in labs. Those same chemicals that cause you to get an unexpected headache or that upset stomach feeling.

Some of these chemicals include benzene, acetone and ethanol, which have many side effects on a person's body and health. Acetone that's found in cologne, acts as a central nervous system depressant and can cause nausea, dryness of the mouth and slurred speech.  Inhalation of ethanol vapors can produce symptoms similar to those of indigestion. Benzaldehyde is a narcotic and a local anesthetic. Limonene is a carcinogenic and should not be inhaled. According to a 1991 study by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, 95 percent of these chemicals are derived from petroleum and some are potentially hazardous. (Information found by Leaf TV article)

So is your health really worth risking for that spray of perfume?

Excerpt from Dr.Mercola:

<There’s a dirty little secret the fragrance industry would rather you not know about, however, which is the extreme toxicity of many of these products. Hidden behind their pleasant scents are typically chemicals linked to hormone disruption, reproductive problems, and even cancer.

Many perfumes sold at department stores, big-box retailers, and virtually everywhere else can aptly be described as poison – and this means that you could very well be sacrificing your health by wearing them…>

Don't you think it's time for a change? I sure do....it's time for healthier options.

Which is why I have been hard at work studying and preparing a new brand of all natural perfumes. Perfumes that you can feel good about applying. The skin is our largest organ. Whatever you put on your body gets absorbed and goes into your body. My new perfume line will contain only natural ingredients that were put on this planet not created in a lab. Beware of other companies "claiming" to be natural. If you see the word "fragrance" in the list of ingredients, take caution because that can mean it contains synthetic fragrances and chemicals.

See this excerpt from Dr. Mercola

< And although the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) actually has direct authority to regulate harmful ingredients in cosmetics and personal care products, it doesn't exercise it… The Environmental Working Group (EWG) explains:

“When you see ‘fragrance’ on a personal care product's label, read it as ‘hidden chemicals.’ A major loophole in FDA's federal law lets manufacturers of products like shampoo, lotion, and body wash include nearly any ingredient in their products under the name ‘fragrance’ without actually listing the chemical.

Companies that manufacture personal care products are required by law to list the ingredients they use, but fragrances and trade-secret formulas are exempt.”>

I am really excited about the launch of this new all natural perfume line Forget Me Not Scents and hope you love it as much as I do.  Perfume that not only makes you smell good but feel good too!
